Poppy Mercedes (b.1999, London, UK) is a painter creating works as an act of devotion and grief tending for the profound connections between womanhood and nature. Predominantly taking the forms of large oil paintings on wood and canvas, alongside drawings and ceramics. 

She births images from observation and memory, deeply rooted in the experience of a woman’s body. Inner worlds are woven with myth and stories, the women dance in the portals she creates, dancing on the land or at the waters edges.

At the heart of her artistic practice is a potent exploration of the transient nature of our time in these earthly bodies. They can be understood within the realms of ecofeminism and spiritualism.
